Viewing Flash Based Blended Courses

Internet Explorer 11
  1. Check for Flash Player installation and Adobe Flash Player ActiveX (for users on IE)
    1. Open the Control Panel
    2. Navigate to Programs -> Programs and Features
    3. Scroll until Adobe Flash Player and/or Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is found (It is alphabetically organized by default)
    4. If either Adobe Flash player or Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is installed, click the Uninstall button and follow the prompts to remove both of them from the system
  2. Open Internet Explorer 11 and proceed to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download the latest version of Adobe Flash available.
  3. Once the Adobe Flash Player download has finished, open the downloaded application and follow the prompts to install Adobe Flash.
  4. Do NOT install optional toolbars or programs when downloading and installing.
  5. Open Internet Explorer (if not already open)
  6. Click on the Gear Icon on the top right and click on “Internet Options”
  7. Open the Security Tab
  8. Ensure that “Internet Zone” security settings are set to “Medium-High” or lower.
  9. Proceed back to the courseware.
  10. Re-open the courseware.
 
Mozilla Firefox
  1. Check for Flash Player installation
    1. Open the Control Panel
    2. Navigate to Programs -> Programs and Features
    3. Scroll until Adobe Flash Player and/or Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is found (It is alphabetically organized by default)
    4. If either Adobe Flash player or Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is installed, click the Uninstall button and follow the prompts to remove both of them from the system
  2. Open Mozilla Firefox and proceed to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download the latest version of Adobe Flash available.
  3. Once the Adobe Flash Player download has finished, open the downloaded application and follow the prompts to install Adobe Flash.
  4. Do NOT install optional toolbars or programs when downloading and installing.
  5. Open Mozilla Firefox (if not already open)
  6. Open the Add-On’s panel by clicking on the Menu Button located in the top-right corner of the browser window
  7. Open the Plugins Tab
  8. Ensure that Shockwave Flash is present
  9. If able, change settings from “Ask to Activate” to “Always Activate. Might not be available for all users.
  10. Proceed back to the courseware.
  11. Re-open the courseware.
  12. When prompted to “Allow or Block” Adobe Flash player, click “Allow/Allow & Remember”
  13. If not prompted, click on the “Plugin” button located on the URL bar (Has the appearance of a Lego Block) and follow step 12.
 
Apple Safari
  1. Open Safari and proceed to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download the latest version of Adobe Flash available.
  2. Once the Adobe Flash Player download has finished, open the downloaded application and follow the prompts to install Adobe Flash.
  3. Do NOT install optional toolbars or programs when downloading and installing.
  4. Open Safari if not already open
  5. Open the “Preferences” window by clicking on “Safari” on the top bar and selecting “Preferences”
  6. Click on the “Advanced” button to bring up the “Advanced Settings”
  7. Ensure that “Block Webplug-ins to save power” is TURNED OFF (No check mark). This feature is enabled by default on all Safari installations.
  8. Proceed back to the courseware.
  9. Re-open the courseware.
 
Microsoft Edge
  1. Open Microsoft Edge (if not already open)
  2. Open the “Menu” panel by clicking on the “…” button located near the top right of the browser window.
  3. Click on the “Settings” button.
  4. Scroll down as required to the “Advanced Settings” section and click the “View advanced settings” button.
  5. Locate the section and toggle the switch on to enable Adobe Flash Player.
  6. Proceed back to the courseware.
  7. Re-open the courseware.
 
Google Chrome
  1. Open Google Chrome (if not already open)
  2. Open the “Content Settings” page by typing in “chrome://settings/content” into the URL bar
  3. Scroll down to the “Flash” section
  4. Select either “Allow sites to run Flash” or “Ask first before allowing sites to run Flash”.
  5. Proceed back to the courseware.
  6. Re-open the courseware.
  7. If prompted to “Allow or Block” Adobe Flash player, click “Allow/Allow & Remember”
  8. If not prompted, click on the “View Site Information” button located on the URL bar (Has the appearance of an “i”) and follow step 8 for Adobe Flash.
